Chainlink

Overview

Chainlink is a network of oracles and smart contracts. A smart contract is a set of instructions that can be executed without intervention from third parties. Smart contracts can store and manage on-chain assets. Smart contracts have an on-chain address, just like wallet addresses, so smart contracts have all the same functionality of wallet addresses.
Chainlink is currently running this network, with oracles earning rewards. Oracles report off-chain data on-chain for dApps, L1s, and L2s. These oracles collect fees for doing their work. Different networks of oracles are called committees.
